Tragic bus accident claims six lives, leaves 37 injured after plunge into Trishuli river
KATHMANDU: A devastating bus accident occurred as a passenger bus (Lu 2 Kha 2121) traveling from Kapilvastu to Kathmandu veered off course and plunged into the Trishuli river, resulting in six fatalities and injuring 37 others.
Among the victims, five are males, and one is female.
The bus lost control and careened into the Trishuli river around 5 am this morning, causing the tragic incident.
A swift response from the Nepal Armed Police Force (APF) led to the rescue of 37 individuals from the river, who were promptly transported to Ghajuri Hospital for urgent medical attention.
A specialized team comprising 20 APF personnel, including six deep divers, was deployed for the search and rescue operation, as stated by assistant spokesperson of APF, Sailendra Thapa.
