NC withdraws support, ministers resign in Karnali Province

KATHMANDU: In a significant political shift, Nepali Congress has decided to withdraw its support from the government in Karnali Province, following the breakdown of its alliance with CPN (Maoist Center).

As a consequence, three ministers representing the party in the provincial assembly have stepped down from their positions. With 14 lawmakers from the party in the assembly, this move marks a notable change in the political landscape of the province.

The departing ministers include Finance Minister Bedh Raj Singh, Minister for Social Development Khadka Bahadur Pokharel, and Tourism Minister Krishna Kumar BC.

This decision comes after CPN (Maoist Center) formed a new coalition with CPN-UML, JSP, and RSP, signaling a shift away from the alliance led by Nepali Congress.
