PM Dahal launches communist unity initiative

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has announced the commencement of an initiative for communist unity during a meeting with the families of Sukhani Martyrs at the Prime Minister's residence this morning.

Speaking on the final day of Martyrs' Week, Prime Minister Dahal expressed profound respect for the martyrs and declared the initiation of efforts towards communist unity.

The Sukhani Martyrs, including Ramnath Dahal, Netra Ghimire, Biren Rajbanshi, Krishna Kuinkel, and Narayan Shrestha, were tragically murdered by the then panchayat rulers in the Sukhani forest of Jhapa district on Falgun 21, 2029 BS.

Participating in the meeting were members of the Sukhani Martyrs' family, including Biseshwara Dahal, Jeevan Ghimire, Ravin Dahal, Buddha Ghimire, and others.

The CPN (Maoist Center) has been observing Martyrs' Week from Falgun 14 to 21 in the lunar calendar as part of efforts to commemorate the communist movement and the people's war.
