PM engages with NC President and UML Chair on Transitional Justice Bill

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' conducted separate consultations today with CPN (UML) Chair KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba regarding the finalization of the transitional justice-related bill.

At the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar, discussions centered around the bill concerning the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappeared Persons. This engagement included the main opposition party, UML, and the ruling partner, Nepali Congress, stated Manohari Timilsina, the PM's press expert.

The bill, designed to amend the Truth and Reconciliation Commission and the Commission of Inquiry on Enforced Disappeared Persons Act, 2071, is currently under consideration at the Law, Justice, and Human Rights Committee of the House of Representatives.

The Committee is convening today to deliberate on the bill.
