PM Dahal advocates for 'Paperless and Faceless' system to enhance governance
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has emphasized the significance of adopting a 'paperless and faceless' system to enhance good governance in the modern era.
Speaking at a scientists' conference titled 'AI for Prosperous Nepal, Employment for the Future', PM Dahal highlighted the importance of leveraging technology to deliver public services effectively.
"The government will take necessary initiatives to develop computer technology, robotic technology, data science, machine learning, internet of things, and computational infrastructures," stated the PM, emphasizing the alignment of AI policies with the National Science and Technology and Innovation Policy, 2076 BS, and the Digital Nepal Framework, 2019.
PM Dahal underscored the allocation of budget for the Science Technology Innovation Fund, demonstrating the government's commitment to advancing the science and technology sector.
Furthermore, he directed the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology to foster self-reliance in the technology sector and prioritize science technology research and innovation in policy programs and budget allocations for the upcoming fiscal year.
The Prime Minister emphasized the role of AI in enhancing innovation and productivity, expressing confidence that initiatives like implementing 'ChatBot' services and projects related to metadata analysis based on AI will enhance government service delivery.
PM Dahal expressed optimism that the conference, jointly organized by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology and various stakeholders, will contribute to the realization of Nepal's prosperity goals.
He concluded by asserting that embracing AI technology will save time, foster innovation, and enhance productivity, benefiting various sectors of society.
