Speaker urges government response to MPs' queries by March 4
KATHMANDU: Speaker Devraj Ghimire has instructed the government to address the concerns raised by lawmakers during the House of Representatives (HoR) session, slated for March 4.
The Speaker's directive follows demands from the main opposition and other parties for the government to respond to various contemporary issues during today's HoR meeting.
During the session, lawmakers Surya Bahadur Thapa Chhetri and Rajendra Lingden highlighted the government's failure to address the challenges faced by usury victims, individuals affected by microfinance, and dairy farmers.
This demand for government accountability echoes previous calls from lawmakers urging clear responses on issues such as the Balkumari incident and the removal of ministers implicated in corruption scandals.
Opposition members expressed frustration at the government's failure to address these concerns raised in previous parliamentary sessions.
