Nepal faces must-win clash against Namibia in Triangular T20 series
KATHMANDU: Nepal gears up to face Namibia today in a crucial match of the ongoing triangular T20 series.
The showdown is set to take place at the Tribhuvan University playground in Kirtipur, with the action kicking off at 11:30 am.
Nepal finds itself in a must-win scenario to secure a spot in the series final, having suffered back-to-back defeats.
The team faced a setback against Namibia, succumbing to a 20-run loss, followed by a narrow defeat to the Netherlands by just 2 runs.
For this series, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has put together an 18-member squad under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel.
The Nepali contingent includes Rohit Paudel (captain), Asif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airi, Lalit Rajbanshi, Karan KC, Gulshan Jha, Sompal Kami, Pratish JC, Sandeep Zora, Binod Bhandari, Bibek Yadav, Anil Shah, Rashid Khan, Sagar Dhakal, Arif Seikh, and Abinash Bohora.
Among the participating countries, Namibia leads the ICC T20 rankings, holding the 11th position.
In contrast, the Netherlands ranks 15th, while Nepal occupies the 16th spot in the ICC rankings.
