Netherlands secures nail-biting win by two runs over Nepal in T20I clash
KATHMANDU: In a closely fought battle, the Netherlands emerged triumphant against Nepal by a slim margin of two runs in the second match of the tri-nations T20I series.
After winning the toss, Nepal opted to field first and managed to restrict the Netherlands to a total of 184 runs for the loss of four wickets.
However, Nepal's chase fell just short of the target as they reached a total of 182 runs.
Despite impressive performances from Dipendra Singh Airee, who scored 63 runs, and Captain Rohit Poudel, who contributed 50 runs, Nepal couldn't quite seal the victory.
Aasif Sheikh and Kushal Malla also made valuable contributions to the team's efforts.
Credit goes to the Dutch team for their solid batting display, with Michal Levitt making an impactful half-century on his T20I debut and S. Engelbrecht adding 49 runs to the Dutch total.
With this thrilling win, the Netherlands asserts its strength in the tri-nations T20I series, setting the stage for an exciting tournament ahead.
