CAN announces monthly remuneration for male players

KATHMANDU: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has decided to provide a monthly remuneration of Rs. 100,000 to male players listed in grade 'A', following a decision made during a CAN Board meeting held from February 24 to 26.

Notable cricketers including national team captain Rohit Kumar Paudel, Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, Asif Sheikh, and Kushal Bhurtel are among those listed as 'A' grade cricketers, each eligible for the monthly remuneration.

Furthermore, 'B' grade players, including Kushal Malla, Gulshan Jha, Bhim Sarki, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, and Abhinash Bohora, are set to receive Rs. 70,000 per month, as per the decision of the Board meeting.

For 'C' grade players such as Binod Bhandari, Arjun Saud, Sundeep Jora, and Pratish GC, a monthly remuneration of Rs. 55,000 each has been announced.

Players falling under 'D' grade, including Pawan Sarraf, Sagar Dhakal, Anil Shah, Bibek Kumar Yadav, Akash Chand, Basir Ahamad, and Surya Tamang, are entitled to Rs. 35,000 each on a monthly basis.

Additionally, CAN has allocated Rs. 25,000 per month for emerging players such as Dipesh Kandel, Rupesh Singh, Rijan Dhakal, Bipin Khatri, Dev Khanal, Arjun Gharti, and Hemant Dhami.

For women cricketers, those in grade 'A' will receive Rs. 50,000 per month each, with players like Indu Barma, Rubina Chhetri, and Sita Rana Magar included in this category.

Similarly, 'B' grade women cricketers, presently represented by Kabita Kunwar, will be paid Rs. 35,000 per month. Grade 'C' players Puja Mahato and Ashmina Karmacharya will receive Rs. 30,000 each month, while players like Apsari Begam, Kabita KC, Sangita Rai, Kajol Shrestha, and Bindu Rawal in grade 'D' are eligible for Rs. 25,000 each monthly.

Furthermore, emerging women players comprising Soni Pakhrin, Khusi Dangol, Jyotsnika Marasini, Kanchan Shrestha, Shristi Jaisi, Samjhana Khadka, and Sana Prabin will receive Rs. 20,000 each per month.
