Woman charged with abduction for allegedly stealing infant from Paropakar Maternity Hospital

KATHMANDU: A woman, identified as Man Kumari Singh, has been formally charged with abduction following her arrest for allegedly stealing an infant from Paropakar Maternity and Women’s Hospital.

Singh, aged 24 and originally hailing from Namune Rural Municipality-1, currently resides in Kandaghari, Kathmandu.

The incident involved the kidnapping of a 26-day-old baby belonging to Sabina Shrestha from the hospital premises.

After being apprehended with the infant in Kandaghari, Kathmandu, Singh now faces the possibility of a jail term ranging from seven to 10 years, in addition to a potential fine of up to Rs 100,000.
