EC sets date for by-election in Illam and Bajhang

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has unveiled plans for a significant by-election in Illam and Bajhang, scheduled for April 27.

Following a recent office bearers meeting on Sunday, the commission finalized the decision to hold the by-elections in Illam constituency 2 and Bajhang Provincial Assembly constituency 1 on the specified date.

These by-elections come as a result of unfortunate circumstances, following the passing of House of Representatives (HoR) member Subhash Nembang from Illam and Provincial Assembly member Prithvi Bahadur Singh from Bajhang.

The Election Commission's proactive approach highlights its dedication to upholding democratic values and ensuring representation remains intact despite unforeseen events.
