Nepal sets 173-run target against Netherlands in ICC CWC League 2 clash

KATHMANDU: Nepal has laid down the gauntlet, presenting the Netherlands with a formidable target of 173 runs to chase in their ICC CWC League 2 showdown.

Electing to bowl first after winning the toss, the Netherlands successfully contained Nepal's batting lineup, restricting them to a total of 172 runs within 49.3 overs at the TU International Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Highlighting Nepal's innings was the stellar performance of Kushal Bhurtel, who notched his eighth ODI half-century with an impressive 66 runs.

Contributing to the total were Karan KC, Aarif Sheikh, and Rohit Poudel, with scores of 26, 22, and 16 runs respectively.

The Netherlands' bowling attack, led by VJ Kingma and Aryan Dutt, proved formidable, with both bowlers claiming three wickets each.

Now, with the target set, Nepal's bowlers will look to defend their total and secure victory in this crucial match.
