Nepal to bat first against Netherlands in World Cup League 2 encounter

KATHMANDU: In a crucial match under the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League 2 series, Nepal has chosen to bat first against the Netherlands at the TU Cricket Ground today.

After winning the toss, the Netherlands elected to field first, setting the stage for an exciting encounter between the two teams.

This match marks the second face-off between Nepal and the Netherlands in the ongoing series, which also includes Namibia. In their previous encounter on February 17, Nepal clinched a convincing victory over the Netherlands, winning by 9 wickets.

Nepal currently holds the second position in the points table, with just one win in three matches. Namibia leads the table with three wins in four matches, while the Netherlands follows closely in third place. Despite having equal points with Nepal, the Netherlands trails behind due to net run rate considerations.

Nepal's journey in the series has been challenging, losing both matches against table-toppers Namibia. However, they aim to turn the tide in today's match against the Netherlands.
