TU Vice-Chancellor appointment process in progress: PM Dahal
KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has provided clarification regarding the ongoing appointment process for the vice-chancellor position at Tribhuvan University (TU).
During a meeting with office-bearers of the Gorkha Journalist Society Nepal at the Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar today, Prime Minister Dahal emphasized that the appointment process for TU's vice-chancellor is currently underway. He refuted claims circulating on social media regarding the appointment process, urging the media to rely on factual and reliable information.
Prime Minister Dahal underscored the importance of the media in disseminating accurate information and cautioned against forming opinions based solely on social media reports.
Furthermore, PM Dahal informed that he is reviewing the report on the recent Balkumari incident, ensuring that necessary decisions will be made promptly in response to the findings.
Regarding his efforts as the executive head to promote Nepal on the global stage, PM Dahal highlighted the strengthening of diplomatic relations with various countries during his high-level visits.
Acknowledging the support received from the locals of Gorkha, Prime Minister Dahal assured that efforts are being made to revive struggling industries in the region, including the Gorakhkali rubber industry.
PM Dahal reiterated the government's commitment to promoting good governance, social justice, and economic prosperity, urging media support for the government's campaign in these areas.
During the meeting, journalists from Gorkha district, active in Kathmandu, urged Prime Minister Dahal to prioritize development works in Gorkha, to which he expressed his attention and commitment.
