Balkrishna Khand taken to CIAA

KATHMANDU, Dec 15: Congress leader and former Home Minister Balkrishna Khand, who is one of those accused in the Fake Bhutanese Refugee case, has been taken to the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) from the Department of Money Laundering Investigation.

The Department of Money Laundering Investigation had demanded a bail amount of Rupees 1.5 million earlier on Friday. After handing over Rupees 3 million to the District Court Kathmandu and Rupees 1.5 million to the Department of Money Laundering Investigation on Friday, he was taken to CIAA.

The Patan High Court had given an order on Thursday to release Khand on bail of Rupees 3 million.
