Final hearing on Resham Chaudhary’s case scheduled for today postponed

KATHMANDU, Nov 9: The final hearing on the case filed against Resham Chaudhary, who received amnesty from President Ram Chandra Paudel, and the President’s office, scheduled for today, has been postponed. The hearing has been postponed due to the lack of Judges.

The writ petition was filed by Sharada Kadayat, the wife of Inspector Keshav Bohara, who was killed in the Tikapur massacre.

President Paudel decided to release Resham Chaudhary, who is considered the mastermind behind the Tikapur massacre, and waive his remainder of imprisonment, on the occasion of Republic Day, 29th of May, 2023. Kadayat, filed a writ on the Supreme Court, saying that the President had given amnesty to those involved in serious and cruel human rights violators.

Kadayat filed a petition against the President's Office Shital Niwas and Resham Chaudhary, demanding the cancellation of the President's decision. She has demanded that Chaudhary be kept in jail for the entire time, demanding that the decision of the President's Office be revoked by the Certiorari order.
