3 Nepalese injured in Israel, some in contact, some may have died: Foreign Minister Saud
KATHMANDU, Oct 8: Foreign Minister Narayan Prasad Saud has said that some Nepalese may have died in the attack on Israel by the Palestinians. Speaking during the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, he informed that the mechanism has been deployed to get a hold of the situation and their condition.
He informed that 265 students are studying in Israel and 4500 Nepalese have been working as caregivers there.
Among the Nepalese students that went to Israel from the Sudurpashchim University, 17 are studying in Kibbutz Alumim, which lies in the Southern area of Israel, and is near the Gaza strip, Saud informed. He said that among the 17 students, two are safe, the three injured have been treated at a local hospital and the remaining 12 are out of contact, and that some of them may have died. The Government of Nepal has taken this incident seriously, he added.
Saud said that since 6 am yesterday morning, according to Nepali time, the southern region of Israel has been attacked by air, sea, and land, and it has been considered the biggest attack in Israel after decades.
