Curfew temporarily lifted in Nepalgunj

KATHMANDU, Oct 5: The curfew imposed in Nepalgunj, Banke has been temporarily lifted. The Banke District Administration Office issued a notice and informed that the curfew has been lifted from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

It is mentioned in the notice that the curfew will continue in the Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan area from 8 p.m. today to 6 a.m. Friday.

However, prohibitory orders are still issued during this period. According to the Administration, all kinds of gatherings, processions, meetings, demonstrations and propaganda materials such as posters and pamphlets are forbidden within the area.

The notice also mentions that more than five people cannot gather in one place for riots or disturbances. CDO Bipin Acharya has also requested to maintain overall peace and order in the district, protect public property, maintain social harmony and respect human rights.
