National Human Rights Commission requests to be sensitive of ‘E:’ who are on sit-in

KATHMANDU, Sep 27: The National Human Rights Commission has stated that their attention has been drawn to the health condition of the activists ‘E:’ who are currently on a sit-in in front of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Office, City Hall, demanding management of street businessmen.

Lily Thapa, a member of the Commission, on Tuesday, monitored the place with her high-level team. After that, the Commission on Wednesday, requested to be sensitive to the health condition of the activists ‘E:’ and find the solution through negotiations by issuing a press release.

The activists sit on a chair from 12 am to 5 am and stand with the help of a stick the remainder of the time, it has been stated. The ‘E:’ activists who have been on a sit-in for the last 8 days, have swollen legs, and many more problems due to the sit-in and are taking medications as per the consultation with doctors, it has been stated in the press release issued by the Commission.

The commission has requested the concerned parties not to put their health and lives at risk and to find other alternatives to the demonstration.
