FNJ demands action against those who attacked journalist Dhami
KATHMANDU, Sep 26: The Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) has demanded to bring those who attacked Ratopati journalist Krishna Singh Dhami, to justice. FNJ has drawn the attention of the concerned bodies to immediately identify and bring the attackers with criminal mentalities to justice and prioritize the security of journalists.
On the 25th of September, Monday, journalist Dhami was attacked in broad daylight by a group of people near the Central office of Ratopati in Bakhundol, due to which, he suffered injuries in the head and various parts of his body. He was treated at the Sumeru Hospital in Pulchowk.
On the 11th of September, Ratopati published a news regarding the educational programs provided by the Tribhuwan University, to which, the student union had issued a press release warning journalist Krishna Singh Dhami as well as Ratopati Online on the 12th of September, 2023, Tuesday. Taking this into account, FNJ has demanded an investigation and legal action against the culprits.
Issuing a press release, FNJ has condemned the incident and said that this type of conduct is an action against press freedom.
