Classes missed due to strike to be held on holidays

Teachers start returning home

KATHMANDU, Sep 23: The Nepal Teachers Association has said that the two days of classes missed due to the teachers' strike will be held during holidays.

The Chairpersons of the Association, Kamala Tuladhar and Laxmi Kishor Subedi, issued a press release today requesting the public school teachers to hold the missed classes during the holidays.

In the press release, the Association thanked all the teachers and staff who participated in the protest, which led to the signing of the 6-point agreement between the government and the Teachers Association.

The teachers have withdrawn their protest and teachers that are from the outside of the valley have started returning home.

The Nepal Teachers Association held a strike in Kathmandu, protesting against the Education Bill registered in the parliament, from Sep 20 to 22. As Sep 20 was a public holiday, only two days of classes were affected by the strike.
