Four people killed in Gairigaun Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, Sep 16: Four people have been murdered in Gairigaun. The dead bodies of two men and two women were found inside the Dibya Sawmill in Tinkune, Kathmandu.

The bodies of the four people were found with injuries hit by sharp weapons. The incident is believed to have taken place at around 12 midnight, said the Spokesperson of Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Senior Superintendent of Police Dineshraj Mainali.

Mainali added that three of the four people killed in Tinkune were from the same family. The victims are Kumar Bhujel, 56, of Dolakha and currently working as a gatekeeper in the sawmill, his wife Ambika Bhujel, 52, Kumar's mother, Shubhadra Bhujel,76, and Nabin Rai, age 20, originally from Belbari in Morang, according to SSP Dineshraj Mainali.

The bodies were found with injuries from sharp weapons on different parts of their bodies including the head. The bodies have been sent to the TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajganj for post-mortem while further investigation into the incident continues, said SSP Mainali.

Trained police and dogs have been mobilized to investigate the incident. Specialized teams from Valley Police Office and District Police Range Kathmandu have also been mobilized at the crime scene.

The Dibya Sawmill is owned and operated by Balkrishna Siwakoti, a resident of Kalinchok Rural Municipality-8, Dolakha, and currently living in Guashala, Kathmandu.

During the investigation of the incident, 28-year-old Dipendra Rai, who lives in the same house, was taken into custody, said Deepak Thapa, chief of the Kathmandu Valley Police Office, Additional Inspector General of Police.
