MP - DSP dispute: Investigation underway in Fungling
BIRATNAGAR, Sep 11: The dispute between the local police administration and the Congress personnel in Fungling, Taplejung has slowed down.
A dispute arose between DSP Rajan Limbu and Congress MP Khagen Singh Hangam after the police, in normal clothes, allegedly teased the locals who went to see the fair held in Fungling on September 7. As the dispute arose, MP Hangam even threatened to kill DSP Limbu's family.
As the dispute kept escalating, the Koshi Province Police Office formed a 4-member investigation committee, under the leadership of SP Rishiram Kandel, to calm the dispute.
The Province Police Chief Rajeshnath Bastola has informed that the investigation committee is going to conclude the work soon and said that the situation in Fungling has calmed down.
"The committee has been given the responsibility to inquire with everyone and submit the report", DIG Bastola said, "The report will come in a day or two."
When asked about whether there will be an inquiry on the threat to kill the police, Bastola answered, "The entire incident will be investigated. It's not like only one part of it will be investigated."
