Lalita Niwas case: Debate concludes on behalf of 8 defendants

KATHMANDU, Sep 7: The debate has concluded on behalf of 8 defendants in the case of misappropriation of government land inside the "Lalita Niwas camp" in Baluwatar. 

Advocates debated on behalf of 4 defendants including Bhatbhateni Supermarket Operator Min Bahadur Gurung, former Survey Officer Ghaman Kumar Karki, Dillibazar Land Revenue Office's buyer Gopal Karki and Samarjung Company's assistant accountant Binod Prasad Pokharel on Thursday.

The debate on behalf of Shivaji Bhattarai, Rudra Kumar Shrestha, Balkrishna Shrestha and Kaladhar Deuja has already concluded in the bench of Justice Bholanath Dhakal in Kathmandu District Court.

A total of 18 people are in custody on the charge of being involved in the Lalita Niwas case. The debates on behalf of 10 defendants are yet to conclude. Justice Dhakal has ordered the defendant's lawyers to conclude the debate by Friday.
