US Air Force airplane arrives in Nepal
KATHMANDU, Sep 7: An airplane of the United States Air Force has arrived in Nepal with a 12-member team. The US Army team arrived in Kathmandu today as part of a joint exercise with the team of the Nepal Army at Nagarkot in Bhaktapur.
The 40th edition of the Joint Combined Exchange Training, which is being conducted regularly between the Nepal Army and the US Army, is scheduled to be conducted from September 10 to September 29. For that purpose, the American military unit from the American Air Force plane landed at the Tribhuvan International Airport on Thursday along with the relief materials. The plane is scheduled to return on Friday.
A total of 42 people including 30 people from the Nepal Army and 12 people from the American Army will participate in the joint exercise.
The Nepal Army participates in joint training and exercises with the military organizations of America, Britain, India, China, Sri Lanka, Mongolia, Bangladesh, Israel and other countries on matters such as search and rescue, disaster management, anti-terrorism, mountain climbing, roles to be played while participating in the United Nations peacekeeping force, etc.
Meanwhile, a 10-member team of the Nepal Army, which will participate in the competitive exercise Cumbrane Patrol, which is being conducted in the United Kingdom, has left for the UK under the command of Major General Bivek Bikram Shah on Wednesday.
