Hearing of writ filed against Koshi Province CM in full bench today as well

KATHMANDU, Sep 5: The writ filed against the Chief Minister of the Koshi Province in the Supreme Court saying the vote of confidence he took was unconstitutional, will be heard by the full bench today as well.

The hearing on the writ in the full bench with Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, Dr. Kumar Chudal and Nahakul Subedi started on Monday after the joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Sushmalata Mathema on Sunday ordered for the writ to be heard by the full bench and the writ was kept for a continuous hearing as the debate was ongoing.

When Thapa took the vote of confidence on August 21, he had made the majority by taking the vote of Congress MP Israili Mansuri, also the Provincial Assembly Chairperson. Against that, UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki, who is also a former Chief Minister, had filed a case. On the 24th of August, Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada issued a show cause order during the initial hearing of the writ.
