Hearing of writ against Koshi Province CM in full bench, regular hearing from tomorrow

KATHMANDU, Sep 3: The writ filed in the Supreme Court against the Chief Minister of the Koshi Province Uddhav Thapa, saying the vote of confidence he took was unconstitutional, will be heard in the full bench consisting of a minimum of three Justices. The writ will be heard regularly starting tomorrow.

The joint bench of Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Sushmalata Mathema decided to send the writ to the full bench.

When Thapa took the vote of confidence on August 21, he had made the majority by taking the vote of Congress MP Israili Mansuri, also the Provincial Assembly Chairperson. Against that, UML leader Hikmat Kumar Karki, who is also a former Chief Minister, had filed a case.

On the 24th of August, Justice Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada issued a show cause order during the initial hearing of the writ.
