Lalita Niwas Case: Testimony of all 18 defendants completed, Detention hearing from Sunday

KATHMANDU, Sep 1: The testimony of the 18 defendants involved in the misappropriation of the land inside the Lalita Niwas Camp in Baluwatar has ended. The testimony of the 18 defendants was taken in the District Court Kathmandu on the bench of Judge Bholanath Dhakal. The District Court Kathmandu has informed that the testimony of all 18 defendants has ended.

With this, the testimony of the arrested defendants which began on August 28, has ended, and the detention hearing will begin on Sunday.

CIB has concluded that 72969.16 sq. meters of the Lalita Niwas camp’s land have been misappropriated. The District Government Attorney’s Office had filed a case in the District Court against 289 people as defendants. The 21 deceased have also been made defendants for the purpose of returning land.
