Gulmi District Hospital under tension after girl's death

BUTWAL, Aug 29: Tension has arisen in Gulmi District Hospital after a girl who was being treated at the hospital died on Tuesday morning.

Relatives of the girl have surrounded the hospital in protest criticising the negligence of the doctors and nurses working in the hospital.

The girl named Prashamsa Marasini, 7, was the daughter of Rajesh Marasini, a resident of Kaule in Chhatradev Rural Municipality-7, Arghakhanchi.

According to the girl's uncle Yuvraj Bhandari, the girl was brought to the hospital for treatment after she had a stomachache. She was brought to Gulmi Hospital on a motorcycle at around 11 am on Monday.

Bhandari alleged that the doctor didn't come for the girl's treatment even after she lost consciousness. The relatives have surrounded the hospital in fury, alleging that Dr. Rajendra Giri, the head of the hospital, acted in an irresponsible manner towards the victims and the incident.
