Patient death case: 3-point agreement between relatives and hospital
KATHMANDU, Aug 28: The relatives of the deceased patient and the Swastik Hospital have reached an agreement.
Aijanlal Chaudhary, 55, who was a resident of Shivanagar, Belauri Municipality-10, Kanchanpur, was admitted to the hospital to treat his kidney stones. He passed away due to extreme bleeding during the operation of his left kidney according to the hospital.
The discussion between the two sides has finally come to a close as they signed a 3-point agreement.
The Swastik Hospital has agreed to take care of the education fees of the deceased's son, Jyoti Prakash Chaudhary, who is an MBBS student. The hospital also agreed to pay the marriage expenses of the deceased patient's two daughters. Finally, the hospital will take action against Dr. Jones Tiwari who was involved in the operation.
Tension had arisen in the hospital after the patient's relatives protested against the hospital criticising the negligence of the doctors involved. The hospital had also increased its security after the relatives demonstrated a protest.
