Case against Sandeep Lamichhane not heard
KATHMANDU, Aug 27: The case against cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane, which was scheduled for hearing in the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday could not be heard. The case which was scheduled for hearing in the bench of Judge Prakash Prasad Pandit, was cast aside saying that there was not enough time to hear the case.
A case was filed in the court against Sandeep on October 31 last year on the charge of raping a minor.
The case against Sandeep was scheduled to be heard in the 5th number of Judge Pandit’s bench. But even though four cases have already been heard, all the cases from the fifth to below have been put on the not-able-to-be-heard list.
Sandeep's lawyer Saroj Krishna Ghimire informed that he will leave for Pakistan on Monday morning to play in the Asia Cup.
As the next hearing for the case has been scheduled for September 7, Sandeep has been given permission to go to Pakistan to play in the tournament. The opening match of the Asia Cup is being held on August 30 between Nepal and Pakistan. The match will be held in Multan, Pakistan.
