Armed police deployed in Dharan, road from Itahari to Dharan under strict surveillance

SUNSARI, Aug 26: The road from Dharan to Itahari is being kept under strict surveillance by Armed Police after Hinduists demonstrated a protest in Itahari.

Police and Armed Police have been deployed on the road leading from Tarahara to Dharan to stop violence from ensuing as the Hinduists have been protesting against the slaughter of cows.

Targeting the Dharan Sub-Metropolitan of the Sunsari district, the Sunsari District Administration Office has issued a curfew. It has been prohibited to enter Dharan on Saturday through the four-way crossing. Public vehicles are banned from running on Koshi Highway due to the curfew.

It has been requested not to collectively hold any social, religious, or political meetings, rallies/gatherings/demonstrations, etc.

Hinduists have raised slogans against the republic government of Nepal after being unable to demonstrate in Itahari.
