2 arrested for committing fraud using Zamzam Electronics' name
KATHMANDU, Aug 24: The Police have arrested two people with nearly Rs 500,000 for alleged involvement in fraud. Rajkumar Pandit from Parsa and Umesh Kumar Yadav from Rautahat are among the arrested.
A case was filed against them earlier for scamming people by scamming people by saying they were "awarded" by Zamzam Electronics through social networks such as TikTok, Facebook and WhatsApp and asking them for money for customs clearance.
According to the Cyber Bureau of Nepal Police, a case was filed by victim women after they were scammed and forced to deposit money in various bank accounts.
A team of the Cyber Bureau arrested them from Kupondole in Lalitpur along with Rs 4 million and 995 thousand. They also seized 183 SIM cards, 12 ATM cards and routers.
The Police are conducting further investigation into the matter, the Bureau informed.
