Sandeep Lamichhane: Cricketer to leave for Pakistan on same day as hearing

KATHMANDU, Aug 23: The hearing on the rape case filed against Sandeep Lamichhane has been scheduled for the 27th of August, Kathmandu District Court informed.

The Court scheduled the hearing for Sunday after all of the documents ordered by the Kathmandu District Court were submitted.

The documents revealing the date of birth of the victim "Gaushala 26" and the members of her family, and the certified copies of the documents of migration have already been submitted to the Court.

Sources from the Kathmandu District Court informed that the documents will be opened on the day of the hearing, in the bench, as some of the documents are sealed.

Meanwhile, the defendant Sandeep Lamichhane is preparing to leave for Pakistan on the same day, the 27th of August, if he is cleared or if the case is not settled that day. 

His lawyer informed that Sandeep will leave for Pakistan to play in the Asia Cup if he is cleared after the verdict or if there is no hearing. The Cricket Association Nepal (CAN) is discussing with the Court on that matter.
