Chief Justice to be sworn in at 4 pm today
KATHMANDU, Aug 22: The newly-appointed Chief Justice Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha will be sworn in at 4 pm today. According to the Constitutional Provision that the Chief Justice has to take the oath before the President, the oath will be taken at 4 pm today at the President’s residence in Sheetal Niwas.
According to the Spokesperson of the President's Office, Joint Secretary Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, preparations have been made for the oath of the Chief Justice at 4 pm for which sending letters and other tasks will be started from Tuesday morning.
Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha, who was recommended as the Chief Justice by the Constitutional Council on August 3, was unanimously approved as the Chief Justice by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee in the parliamentary hearing on the 21st of August, Monday. After the Constitutional Council informed that to the President's Office on Monday, Shrestha was appointed as the Chief Justice by the President on Monday evening.
