Court extends custody of 18 including Min Bahadur Gurung by 3 days

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: The District Court Kathmandu has permitted to keep the arrestees in the Lalita Niwas Case in custody for 3 more days. Judge of the District Court Kathmandu Dipak Dhakal gave the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) permission to keep the 18 including Bhat Bhateni Supermarket operator Min Bahadur Gurung in custody for 3 more days.

After the custody extension on 17 August ended, the Police requested further extension of custody. The CIB has informed that it has completed the investigation on the Lalita Niwas Case. The Spokesperson of CIB, the Superintendent of Police (SP) Navraj Adhikari told Ratopati that the investigation report along with the opinion will be submitted to the Government Attorney’s Office on Monday.

In the land embezzlement case of the land inside the Lalita Niwas camp, Min Bahadur Gurung, former Election Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah, Gopal Karki, Shivaji Bhattarai, Ghaman Kumari Karki, Baburaja Maharjan, Dev Narayan Maharjan, Dhruba Prasad Aryal, Yograj Paudel, Narayan Das Mishra, Rudra Prasad Shrestha, Bal Krishna Shrestha, Binod Paudel, Keshav Tuladhar, Arun Kumar Shrestha, Kaladhar Deuja, Sanjay Maharjan and Sakalananda Maharjan are in custody.
