Gold smuggling case: Four arrested Chinese found to have Nepalese citizenships
KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The four Chinese citizens who were arrested in the case of 60 kilograms and 716 grams of gold smuggled from Hong Kong are found to have Nepalese citizenships in their possession. Police spokesperson, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Kuber Kadayat told Ratopati that the four Chinese who are currently in the custody of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) are found to have Nepalese citizenships in their possession.
According to Kadayat, it was found that one has taken citizenship from Kathmandu, while three from Kavrepalanchok.
Indian Aadhaar card (identity card) has been found with a Chinese who was arrested in the case. DIG Kadayat informed that Indian Aadhaar cards were found with Thapten Chhiring, an Indian citizen of Tibetan origin and another Chinese.
