Decision for parliamentary hearing on proposed Chief Justice of SC tomorrow
KATHMANDU, Aug 20: The parliamentary hearing committee meeting held at Singha Darbar today morning has decided to hold a parliamentary hearing on the proposed Chief Justice of the Supreme Court Bishwambhar Prasad Shrestha at 11 am tomorrow.
Before that, the hearing committee member Ishwari Gharti Magar informed Ratopati that it has been decided to discuss with the complainants at 10:30 am. The meeting of the hearing committee held on August 8 had called for a complaint against Shrestha by giving a 10-day time.
On August 3, the Constitutional Council recommended Shrestha as the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Shrestha's name was number one in the recommendation made by the Judicial Council for the appointment of the Chief Justice. If approved by the parliamentary committee, he will lead the Supreme Court for 14 months.
