FIFA Women’s World Cup: Spain defeats Sweden reaching final

Aug 15: Spain has reached the final of the 9th FIFA Women's World Cup Football Tournament. Spain reached the final of the tournament after defeating a strong rival Sweden by 2-1 goals in the semi-final match played on Tuesday.

Spain will now face the winner of the semi-final match between Australia and England for the title. The second semi-final match will be played on Wednesday, tomorrow. 

The semi-final match between Spain and Sweden was very competitive. The first half ended in a goalless draw. 

In the second half, three goals were scored consecutively within the duration of eight minutes. In the 81st minute of the scheduled time, Salma Paralluelo scored the first goal for Spain. However, Sweden struck back in the 88th minute of the scheduled time with Rebecka Blomqvist’s counter goal. One minute later, Olga Carmon scored the decisive goal for Spain.
