HoR meeting adjourned until Aug 20 following UML's protests
KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The House of Representatives meeting has been adjourned until the 20th of August after the CPN UML's members of parliament protested by raising slogans in the meeting of the House of Representatives.
The UML MPs protested demanding an investigation into the gold smuggling before touching on the regular agenda of the meeting.
They raised slogans such as "Take action against gold smugglers", "Form a high-level inquiry committee to investigate the smuggling", etc.
The UML MPs ignored the Speaker's request to sit down several times and continued the protest. Amidst the protest, the MPs of the Rastriya Swatantrata Party (RSP) banged their tables to get the Speaker's attention.
The Speaker adjourned the meeting until the 20th of August after the UML MPs showed no signs of stopping their protests.
