Congress MP Sunil Sharma arrested
KATHMANDU, Aug 10: Nepal Congress leader and member of the House of Representatives, Sunil Sharma, has been arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He was reportedly arrested from the Tokha area of the capital city.
MP Sunil Sharma was arrested on the charge of creating fake documents. The Police Spokesperson and DIG, Kuber Kadayat, informed that Sharma was arrested for misappropriating educational certificates.
Sharma had made a firm speech in the House of Representatives meeting demanding an investigation into the gold smuggling case. He had also demanded the resignation of Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat.
Sharma was directly elected as an MP from Morang-3 in the elections held on last Mangsir. He is also the director of the Kathmandu Medical College and the Noble Medical College located in Biratnagar.
