Sankhuwasabha prison: Two dead in prison clash

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: Two people have died in a clash between two factions in the Sankhuwasabha prison.

Koshi Province DIG, Rajeshnath Bastola, informed Ratopati that Aakash Balami and Binod Tolange passed away in the clash.

There was a clash between two factions in the Sankhuwasabha prison after some prisoners tried to escape from the prison by cutting the rod of the bathroom.

The prisoners' escape plan was foiled as the security police saw them escaping at around 5 in the morning. A fight broke out between prisoners when some prisoners condemned them for trying to escape.

Balami and Tolange, who were critically injured in the fight, passed away while on their way for treatment.

DIG Bastola informed that the police arrested nine people involved in the fight. "We are investigating those involved in the beating", said Bastola.
