Lalita Niwas case: Supreme Court orders to investigate Madhav Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai

KATHMANDU, Aug 6: The Supreme Court has issued an order to investigate the decision-makers of the Council of Ministers in the Lalita Niwas case.

The bench of Justice Anil Kumar Sinha and Dr. Kumar Chudal ordered an investigation on the policymakers in the hearing of the petition for habeas corpus filed by Yograj Paudel, who is involved in the Lalita Niwas case.

With the order from the Supreme Court, former Prime Ministers Madhav Kumar Nepal and Baburam Bhattarai can now be investigated.

Previously, the Council of Ministers led by Madhav Nepal had given admission to the fake owner to expand the Prime Minister's residence.

Similarly, the Council of Ministers led by Bhattarai had given the in-principle approval to register the land of Lalita Niwas in the name of the nonexistent Pashupati Tikinchha Guthi.
