Writ related to distribution of funds to disqualified fighters to be heard in full bench
KATHMANDU, July 31: The writ filed against the government's decision to pay Rs 2 lakhs each to the disqualified fighters will be heard in the full bench. The bench of justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Hari Prasad Phuyal ordered the writ to be heard in the full bench.
The government had decided to pay Rs 2 lakhs each to ex-Maoist fighters that were disqualified during the verification process by the United Nations Mission in Nepal (UNMIN), but advocate Gyanendra Raj Aran filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court on the 14th of May 2023 demanding to cancel the decision.
Saying that it is necessary to hear the writ in the full bench, the Supreme Administration has been ordered to hear the writ scheduled for hearing on Monday in the full bench. Along with the order, now the writ regarding the distribution of money to the disqualified fighters will be heard in the full bench.
