One more arrested on suspicion of involvement in gold smuggling

KATHMANDU, July 30: The Department of Revenue Investigation arrested one more person from Samakhusi, Kathmandu on suspicion of being involved in gold smuggling. An officer of the Department of Revenue Investigation told Ratopati that Dawa Chhiring was arrested with the help of the Armed Police Force.

On July 19, the Department of Revenue Investigation seized around a quintal of gold brought from Hong Kong by 'Ready Trade Pvt Ltd', from outside the gate of the Tribhuvan International Airport Customs Office and is currently investigating. "Ready Trade Pvt Ltd" brought the gold to Kathmandu by hiding in the "brake pads" of motorcycles and scooters. Along with the arrest of Chhiring, the number of people arrested on suspicion of involvement in gold smuggling has reached 18.
