SC orders to release Communication Secretary Raut

KATHMANDU, July 21: The Supreme Court has given an order to release Communication Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut from prison. The joint bench of Justices Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Nahakul Subedi ordered to release Raut and face trial from outside the prison.

The court has barred Raut from leaving Nepal until the investigation is completed without the order of the case hearing court.

However, the court has issued a mandate to complete the investigation of the case as soon as possible in accordance with section 15 of the National Criminal Procedural Code, 2074.

After being arrested in the Lalita Niwas land scam case, Raut filed a writ of habeas corpus.
