Suspicious Chinese citizen about to fly to China arrested from TIA

KATHMANDU, July 20: A Chinese citizen has been arrested from the Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) on suspicion of being involved in the smuggling of around 1 quintal of gold that was seized on Wednesday from the TIA premises. Jhalakram Adhikari, director general of the immigration department, told Ratopati that Ling Chuwan, who was about to go to China, was arrested.

The Chinese citizen has been handed over to the Department of Revenue Investigation, informed Adhikari. The Chinese citizen is suspected to be involved in the smuggling of around 100 kilograms of gold.
