Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola Tunnel route waiting for breakthrough (With Pics)

KATHMANDU, July 18: The construction of the tunnel route from Dahachowk of Thankot to Sisnekhola of Dhading, has almost been completed. The Physical Infrastructure Minister and Transport Minister Prakash Jwala, Minister of State Minister Nanda Chapagain, Secretary Keshav Kumar, and General Secretary of the road section Sushil Babu Dhakal informed during an inspection that 90 percent of the construction process has been completed.

Two tunnels have been dug simultaneously from both the crossings. Among them, a main tunnel with a width of nine and a half meters and a second tunnel with a width of 4.75 meters have been dug. Vehicles except for motorcycles, heavy vehicles and vehicles carrying petroleum products and explosives will be allowed to pass through the main road.

From the second tunnel to the main road, if the vehicle breaks down or if there is any problem, only the vehicles that need to be deployed for emergency rescue will be allowed to enter.
