Sub-committee formed to investigate Kuala Lumpur-Kathmandu flight

KATHMANDU, July 18: Nepal Airlines Corporation has formed a 2-member inquiry sub-committee to investigate the 9N-AKW aircraft incident that occurred that affected its flight from Malaysia's Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu.

The sub-committee was formed under the coordination of the Corporation's Director Mahesh Marita on Tuesday. Director Poshak Gyawali is also a part of the investigation team as the member secretary of the sub-committee.

The flight schedule of the 9N-AKW aircraft was affected due to the low level of oxygen in the cockpit for its return from Malaysia to Kathmandu with 158 passengers on Monday. Although the airship was scheduled to fly from Kuala Lumpur to Kathmandu at 9:10 am with 176 passengers, it was delayed due to the lack of oxygen.

Corporation's spokesperson Ramesh Paudel has informed that the ship will leave Kuala Lumpur for Kathmandu at 3 pm today after depleting oxygen. He told Ratopati that an investigation sub-committee has been formed under the coordination of Marita to find out the reason behind the incident.
