Writ by defendants including Secretary Raut in joint bench of justices Dhungana and Subedi
KATHMANDU, July 17: The writ of habeas corpus filed by Communication Secretary Krishna Bahadur Raut and three others who are in the custody of the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) in the Lalita Niwas Case, has been scheduled for hearing on Monday.
The joint bench of Justices Prakash Kumar Dhungana and Nahakul Subedi will hear the writ filed by the four defendants. The vacate filed by the Police Headquarters will also be heard by the same bench.
The hearing of the case was scheduled for hearing on Sunday. But the bench ordered the defendants to appear in court on Monday as the case was unable to be heard Sunday.
As some of the defendants took anticipatory bail, the police registered a vacate against them in the case of the Lalita Niwas.
Communication Secretary Raut, Bhatbhateni Supermarket Operator Min Bahadur Gurung, former Election Commissioner Sudhir Kumar Shah and former Land Revenue Office employee Dharma Prasad Gautam have filed a writ of habeas corpus claiming that they have been detained illegally.
